100 Word Challenge - Week 5 by Kyle

Look Around I'm Behind You!

"AHHHHH!" The screams come from the old abandoned theater.  People have gone in and never come out. "Should we go in?" Asked my friend. I paused and said, "yes" with blackness in my voice. We open the doors, they creaked like a crow. We see a black thing shoot across the stage. We hear someone say, "look around I'm behind you!" My friend ran out in terror. I sit on one of the dust covered seats. As soon as I sit down the lights flicker on and off. As I looked around there was a scream of menacing darkness!

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Sydney

I looked all over the Internet, finally I found it, the crocodiles. I scrolled down, there was an orange crocodile. It said to get an orange crocodile, you mix pepper, milk, orange juice and a soft piece from a crocodile toy and give it to a crocodile to drink. You will get an orange crocodile. It also said side effects but I forgot to read them. After I went to my pet crocodile and fed him the mix, nothing happened so I went to bed. I woke up and my crocodile was a different colour.

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Kyle

One day, I was at a candy store and I saw gummy crocodiles. They were orange and they were soft.  Sooo I bought 10 of them.  I eat five, the other five were for Pepper my sister.  I forgot to give them to her and they grew bigger and bigger, they were life sized.  So we had gummy crocodiles for supper for 1 month, then we went to the dentist.  My sister had 21 cavities I had none. My sister asked, "how many cavities do you have?"
 I said, "none!"
"What? None?"
"Yep!"
"Lucky! I have 21 cavities! Mom has...."

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Kennedy

One day I walked in the door and came face to face with my mom.  She yelled "Go and get oranges and some pepper!"  She hands me a twenty dollar bill and walks away.  I hang my backpack up, put the money in my sweater pocket and walk out the door on my way to the store.  I decide to take the long way to the store, the way along the lake.  I see a very soft looking thing swimming in the water.  As the whole head pops up I notice its a crocodile!  So I ran home as fast as I could and forgot about what I was asked to buy.

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Ben

Well, here I am, lost in a swamp in Africa.  All I have is a pepper, a yellow pepper.  Suddenly a big log popped out of the water.  It slowly started moving toward me.  Suddenly it jumped out of the water.  It was a crocodile!  This croc was Calvin the crocodile.  It scared me so much I dropped the pepper and Calvin devoured it.  Then along came annoying orange.  Guess what he devoured, Calvin the croc.  But he forgot he couldn't eat crocs so he threw it up all soft and mushy.  Calvin the croc came out of him dead.

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Caleb

I was just about to eat a soft, orange pepper.  It looked delicious when two short, stubby legs shot out of it and kicked me in the face and ran out the door calling me a big fat crocodile!  I chased it out of Canada and into South America.  It ran into a swamp and ate its way out.  I nearly forgot why I was chasing this orange pepper I was so focused on the pepper I didn't notice big fat crocodiles jumping over me.  I looked down at a big crocodile beside me.  It bit off my leg.

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by Adam

Once there was a little boy named Drake.  Drake was playing a video game it's called "Pepper the Orange Crocodile".  So Drake was minding his own business but Drake forgot to take his AWESOME PILLS.  An AWESOME PILL is a pill that you put in your favourite soda then you shake it, then you open it, then BOOM! POW! SLICE! It EXPLODES! If it touches you you're officially Awesome.  Make the least AWESOME person in your house clean the mess or blame it on your sister.  If you don't have a sister, Good luck! P.S. the soda is soft.

Welcome!

The school year has begun and the end of September is quickly approaching.  Students have been busy with writing stories, learning about weather and learning what it means to be a responsible citizen and how that looks in our classroom.

Students have been taking the 100 Word Challenge (www.100wc.net), where they are given a new prompt each week (sometimes pictures, parts of sentences, or a collection of words that have to be included in their writing).  Those who are interested will have their work published on this blog and they could become showcased on the 100 Word Challenge website.

As a class we have also started our 'Student of the Week'.  Each week a new student will be chosen and will be responsible for certain classroom duties.  The students came up with the responsibilities and have agreed to complete them when it is their turn.

Stay tuned for more 100 word challenge posts from students as well as a post by this weeks 'Student of the Week', Sydney, for a week in review.

100 Word Challenge - Week 4 by B.T.

There I was outside of Tacodile, a Mexican food restaurant. I had just ordered chili peppers with a side of fries. The chili peppers were so spicy I forgot to get a drink so I went to the cash register for some orange crush. I pulled out my wallet to pay him back. I sat back down to enjoy the rest of my meal. After I was done, I went to go by the swamp. There were so many cool rocks. I picked one up it was so soft I decided to keep it.  Just then a crocodile stole it.
